Wednesday January 8th, 2020
  • We had a busy start to our day (gym, music, helping our buddies with computers, new table groups)
  • In Math, we quickly discussed predictions for what number 21 would look like.  This work will continue tomorrow.
  • We read Chapter 1 which was titled, "As Free as a Bird."  Lots of deep questions and connections were made and powerful conversation.
  • We started our Visual Vocabulary of "Space Words" predicting the meaning of a few selected words.  We brainstormed ways that we can learn words and remember them.  The class came up with some great ideas!
  • Our day ended with the provocation “Dare to Dream.”  The focus was on teamwork and relying on people to help reach dreams.  We also discussed how working together requires acceptance and how we accept others.  Students observed how Homer and his friends needed Quentin in order to start the process of launching a rocket from the film, "October Sky."
